After Sun – Cooling Summer Mist

Soothe and repair the skin from summer sun damage with common kitchen ingredients.

r266Check out these natural ingredients you can use to make a moisturizing mist that offer relief and repair if you accidentally catch too many rays.

Chamomile Tea Summer Mist
1/4 cup of chamomile tea
1/4 cup aloe vera gel (from either a fresh, whole leaf or bottled)
4-5 drops lavender essential oil

Pour hot water on 2 bags of chamomile tea and let it cool. Add aloe vera gel along with few drops of essential oil. Pour it in a spray bottle and refrigerate before you mist it on sunburned skin to soothe and calm the skin. You can also use it on your hair to fight frizzy hair.

Vitamin E summer mist
1/2 cup distilled or filtered water
2 teaspoons pure vegetable glycerine
4-5 drops Vitamin E oil
Peppermint essential oils (optional)

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and pour the mixture into a spray bottle for easy application and store in the fridge. Spritz on after a cold bath or shower to moisturize the skin and repair it from summer damage.

Green tea summer lotion/mist
1/2 cup of Green tea
2 tbsp. pure aloe vera gel
5-10 drops lavender essential oil

Brew half a cup of green tea and add 2 tbsp of aloe vera gel with few drops of your favorite essential oil. Shake it well and mist it all over your body to protect it from the sun.
